The 7th Annual Rhode Island Aviation Hall of Fame Induction Dinner is Saturday evening, November 21, 2009. Once again, the event will take place at the historic Varnum Armory in East Greenwich.

Those of you who have attended in previous years know the event always sells out, so please make your plans early.

This year we plan to honor a Rhode Island-born father and son team of USAF three-star generals: LTG James Keck, a WWII bomber pilot who rose to command the 2nd Air Force, and finished his career as vice commander of the Strategic Air Command; and his son, LTG Thommas Keck, who flew B-52 combat missions over North Vietnam and later commanded the 8th Air Force. Both will attend the dinner.

We also plan to honor all Rhode Islanders who served with the Tuskegee Airmen during WWII.

If your organization wants to put together a table of ten the cost is only $400; otherwise, tickets are $45 per person and $80 per couple.

Patron tickets are also available for $100, and includes recognition in the event program as well as a private reception with our speakers, honored guests, inductees and families prior to the dinner.

Directions to the Varnum Armory,
East Greenwich, RI

From Providence and points north:
Take I-95 South to Exit 9 (left exit) toward East Greenwich/North Kingstown. You will immediately merge onto RI Route 4 South. Take the first exit (number 8) which is marked Route 401 toward East Greenwich. Turn right at the light at the top of the ramp. You are now on Division Street. Bear LEFT when the road forks, and continue to the traffic light at Division and Main. The Varnum Armory is on the far right corner. Continue across Main Street and you will find ample free parking in the lot on the right behind the armory.

From Westerly and points south:
Take I-95 North toward Providence. Take exit 8A (RI Route 2 South) toward RI Route 4/East Greenwich. Merge onto RI Route 2 for 0.1 miles, then turn left onto Route 401/Division Street. Continue as above to Main Street.

From Newport:
Take Route 138 across the Newport and Jamestown Bridges. Turn right onto Route 1 (Tower Hill Road) north toward Providence. After 3/4 of a mile Route 1
merges into Route 4 north; bear left. Take exit 8A toward East Greenwich, then turn onto Route 401/Division Street. Continue as above to Main Street.
